MY kitties???  I'm so very blessed and Honored to have the kittens here that melt peoples' hearts....
Our cattery is a small cattery in our home in Northeastern PA.  Only recently have we expanded our female breeding population in order to expand some of our colors and lines.  We are continuing to work hard on our Napoleon breed, getting the look of the Napoleon to a perfect breed standard, while keeping emphasis on the personality, health and temperament of the kitties.  We are honored at the moment also to be working with other Napoleon breeders in the US to register the napoleons and hopefully get them into the show ring soon.

Personally, I have my favorite cats in the house, as everyone does.  All of our cats are tended to personally every day, each is loved as much as the other, they all play with us and our children so they and their kittens are well socialized when kittens leave for their forever homes.
I had brought one female in, a standard munchkin...she'd been not too friendly when she arrived here...she hid, hissed and fought with everyone when they'd get near her.  Now, after careful 2 years of affection and trust-building, chipper is now my lap cat.  She will sit in bed with me, sleep at my side and smash her head into my cheeks and face for kisses and lots of love.  She was the mom to our very first litter here at the cattery, and is probably my most prized cat...there's a bond that builds between cats and humans that can never be replaced, and she has that with me.  She's had 3 litters and the kittens have to be the most amazing and interesting kittens we get here so far.  Every litter has a different color pattern, and the kittens are just amazingly affectionate and playful.  She will be here forever, no matter who offers what kind of money for her.

A few generations of a 'short legged' cats appeared in England in the 1940's...a brief appearance in Germany in the 50's but they disappeared around war time but appeared in the US back in the early 1980's... in Louisiana...from what history says, in an alley being cornered by some dogs.  A woman by the name of Sandra Hochenedel bred this cat (named blackberry) who gave birth to some short and some long leg kittens.  She'd sent one of the boys to another woman by the name of Kay LaFrance... so these two cats started the line of munchkin breeding.

The munchkin legs are produced NOT by a man-made manipulation but it is a natural genetic occurrence.  There are NO signs of any skeletal disorders or health impairments in the research of the munchkin cat.  The munchkin cat is basically like the corgi dog, with it's legs being a natural acceptance by the cat.  The legs in no way hinder these little creatures from any type of physical limitations...they are extremely agile and can slip away from most long leg cats.  Their personality pretty much remains playful most of their lives and giving TONS of affection to the humans they live with.  In our home, the cats seem to own US, it's not us who own the cats.

Morgan

We see daily each one of our cats and kittens do something to make us giggle or roll our eyes in amazement of the really cool things they do.  Some are more laid back and some are mischievous.  I have yet to see one of these little guys that do anything bad that we don't laugh at.  They have a tenancy to sit up on their back legs like little bears if they are curious or playing with their siblings or toys.  We have some here who are under 12 weeks old who do this a lot.  It's really fun to watch them grow, they all have a different personality, and it seems that when the girls have new litters, we have different colors and patterns come out...Never seems to be the same type twice, which is also really cool, as we never know what we're going to get...

Spike

The general personality of a munchkin is playful yet affectionate, they bond well with other animals and humans.  They are great around kids if they are raised around kids from early ages, but like any other animal, children should be watched carefully when playing with kittens or cats, as they are so much more fragile than dogs and other larger animals.  They are not intimidated by larger animals, it seems they have the 'small cat-I-must-prove-my-strength' ego as a small dog does...they have to prove they are tough, I guess!

There are alternatives for people who love the personality of the munchkin but can't afford the price of the short leg cats, most litters carry a little of both long and short legs, and the long legs (non-standards) are just as fun and silly but with a lower price tag...not that they're worth any less, but they're usually easier to come by in litters....

I wish I knew what it was about baby kitty paws...they're awesome, like little baby feeties!!!

And the things they let us do to them!!!
