Our Memorial to Casey and Pixie

We recently lost 2 family members of our cattery...our Pixie, mom of 2 litters passed away at the beginning of December.  She had a stroke which eventually took her life after 4 days of vet care trying to save her.  She produced 2 beautiful litters for us during her too-short life.  We will miss her dearly.

Pixie's daughter from her very first litter, Casey Rose, owned by Liz in Massachusetts, passed away a few weeks ago in a horrific car accident.  She was on her way to see the vet when her Dad's vehicle was struck and totaled, Casey's little body could not bear the impact of the crash from the inside of her crate, and that impact killed her.  A tragic accident for a young cat who was loved so dearly by liz and her family.

As for myself, I miss Pixie with all my heart, she was so young, too young to lose her little life so quickly and for no apparent reason.  There were no genetic reasons for her stroke, she had tested negative for everything, and was so healthy...  we know she is at peace now and her kittens are loved by their owners and we keep in touch with all of them...  she had some wonderful babies, and she lives on through all of them...

if she were orange, she'd be just like the tigger in the picture!
She LOVED Laps and Knees a GEEK too!!!
My daughter spent this afternoon putting together a remembrance for both pixie and casey and i thought it was so pretty i would post it:

We will really miss Pixie and Casey Rose very much with their recent death.  They were both such sweethearts and very playful cats.  They were two of our Purr-fect cats straight from the beginning.  The mother and daughter are now playing up in heaven with all of our past pets during our lives.  We know that God will protect them both, and they have left love and pawprints on our hearts forever.  So, we are grateful they are in a good place now.  We will never forget Pixie and Casey, we will pray for their spirits every day and night and we will never forget the good times we had with them.

I Myself, just want Liz and her family know that they are in my thoughts and my prayers DAILY, as I know how hard it is to lose a loved one--be it animal or human, my cats are like my own children...they all are loved, fed, cared for, snuggled, and played with...  every cat in my house is treated like my kids pretty much... Pixie was my first breeding cat, and my daughter's first pet... she was so very special to us and has a permanent place in my heart forever.  her first litter is the same, it was a long labor for Pixie but she was a trooper, and all 6 of her babies were sets of twins... 3 sets, lilac, chocolate and white color points... that amazed me.  her 2nd litter was 2 sets of twins...
this whole month has been chaotic with holidays and family illness... and the cats saddened me whole heartedly.  We wish for everything wonderful in 2009, and when Liz is ready, she will have a kitty waiting for her, I'll be watching for a very special kitty for liz's heart...and her family's...She is an amazing young woman and full of love, so she deserves only that in return.  She is becoming a very special person in my own life!
